As a Numenist, I prefer to remain as deeply connected to my local community as I can be. This means eating locally grown and prepared foods, buying from local producers for all sorts of things, not just food, and knowing the area intimately as well as the people, plants, and animals.

What I hope to accomplish with this wiki is to educate people about the things I once taught (current, of course) on herbs, permaculture kitchens, disaster preparedness, wildcrafting, preserving harvests, sustainable gardening, and buying and preparing local foods. Living in temperate Oklahoma is a boon - we have many lovely foods available to us for most of the year.

So, with the urging of some friends, I created this wiki to present ways for each of us to become Grassroots Gourmets.

I will be listing local food sources, wildcrafting schedules and guidelines, sustainable gardening tips, recipes, a photo gallery, Feast schedules and menus, lecture schedules, books to read about living locavorishly, current events, and more as I think of them.

I will also be adding pages of disaster preparedness information, seminar worksheets, and information on herbs, permaculture kitchens, preserving foods, and other related things.
